Sizing standing rigging.

How you properly size standing riging? I have a 24' 5500lb Allegra 24 cutter with a 6500lb displacement and ordered the wrong size wire. Now that its up the 1/4" wire seems huge. I have heard all of the arguments but am really looking for the truth. We live aboard full time and are setting off soon for the south pacific. is my rigging too large? |
